After a perfect Saturday spent exploring the quaint villages of The Cotswold, today we’ll head to The Cotswold Water Park.
Be sure to check out The Ultimate Weekend Guide To The Cotswold, to ensure you have a perfect weekend.
Exploring The Cotswold’s Waterpark
For a change of scenery from the green pastures, we will take one final trip to The Cotswold Water Park to explore one or more of its 170 lakes. Now, this isn’t a typical water park filled with flumes and waterslides. But it is filled with lots of activities and a beach to entertain the family and even the solo traveller.
Tip: Once you’ve chosen which lake you want to visit, be sure to check if there are any local events happening that day.
Cotswold Country Park & Beach
The Cotswold Country Park & Beach is home to the largest Inland Paddling Beach in the UK. Whether you want to laze on it’s sandy shores, whip up a BBQ or take advantage of the range of water sport activities on offer, there is something for everyone here.
The Activities On Offer Are:
- Open Water Swimming
- Stand Up Paddle Boards
- Kayaks
- Mini Electric Boats
- Pedalos
- High Ropes
- Mini Golf
- BBQ
Be sure to check out their website prior to visiting, to book your activities, and ensure you are prepared for their latest COVID guidelines. Most of all, be sure to check if there are any events going on, on the day of your visit. Unfortunately, we didn’t, and there was a triathlon going on the day of our visit. This meant, everyone was at the beach and there was no parking left.
4 Lakes Waterski School
For a more exhilarating day out in The Cotswold Water Park, be sure to check out the 4 Lakes.
The Activities On Offer Are:
- Water skiing
- Wakeboarding
- Wake surfing
- Inflatables such as the banana boat ride
- Stand Up Paddleboarding
Go Lake Hopping In The Cotswold Water Park
Most lakes tend to offer some form of activity or another. So if neither of the two above appeals to you, just head to any of the lakes and see what they have to offer. And if you don’t like it, just head to another!
That is precisely what we did and stumbled upon this beauty. The water was calm and serene on one side. And there was a lot of life going on, on the other side.
There were children taking their first sailing lesson whilst their parents watched on. And then there were others stumbling to get on their feet as they so bravely attempted Stand Up Paddleboarding. My only regret was not prebooking for any activity, as I would have loved to have tried SUP. Though I will definitely be back next summer to give this a go.
